Kaj and I flew down to LAX and then drove up to Bishop in order to climb Mt. Langley (14026  ft.) - unfortunately we didn't really leave enough time and arrived at the hotel at 1:30 am which meant that we didn't really get out to the trail head and on move until 11 Saturday.  The area is really pretty and rolls right along up to the main peak.  The trail calls for going through the Army pass but Kaj and I decided that we didn't have day light for that so we took the alternate route which is more direct saving about 7-10 miles round trip - but STEEP.  As you can see in the pictures, there was a 1000-1500' scramble up to 13000' on a scree slope.  We ran past our turn around time without summiting so turned back - we ended up hiking the last 1 hour or so by the full moon - which was really pretty.

I think this was one of the top hikes I have done in years
