A picture of the Collosso di Nerone - the colossus of Nero which was a bronze statue of Nero 30 meters high (about 90 feet) in front of his Golden House.  Where the Coliseum is apparently was an artificial lake in Nero's time where he staged mock sea battles.  His house was huge and sprawled over several hills.  There were riots when rumors circulated that Nero was going to burn large sections of the city in order to make room for a few additional wings...
